Zhang Xichang

Zhang Xichang, born in 1910 in Jiangsu, graduated from Department of Agronomy at Jinling University in 1932, and received a doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota in 1940. 

After returning to China, Zhang served as a technician at Central Agricultural Experiment Institute, a professor at Jinling University. After the establishment of People’s Republic of China, he served as deputy director of Huazhong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, researcher at Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and professor at Huazhong Agricultural University.
