Miao Yuxin, received a doctoral degree in soil science from the University of Minnesota in 2005, and then he stayed at the University doing post-doc research till the end of 2006.
After he returned to China, Miao served as a professor at College of Resource and Environmental Sciences of China Agricultural University. In 2010, Miao founded International Center for Agro-Informatics and Sustainable Development (ICASD), a collaborative program between China Agricultural University and University of Cologne, Germany. In 2011, he founded Jiansanjiang Experiment Station of China Agricultural University and has served as the associate director.
Miao received many honors and awards including Pierre C. Robert Precision Agriculture Young Scientist Award from International Society of Precision Agriculture (2012), the First Class Award of the Seventh Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievements Award (2012), and Special Award for Teaching Achievement from China Agricultural University (2012), etc.
